AGENDA

Come prepared to be outdoors for part of the day.  Bring your PPE (hard hat, eye protection, ear protection) for best outdoor viewing. In the event of rain, the workshop will stay indoors for the entire class. Remember to dress for your comfort level indoors as well; we cannot always control the room temperature at all locations.

Business Owner - O'Neil's Tree Service
Apollo O’Neil is the owner of O’Neil’s Tree Service in Palm Harbor, FL. He established O’Neil’s Tree Service in 2008 and has grown the company from a 1 employee to 17 employees in the last 9 years. Mr. O’Neil is an ISA Certified Arborist and maintains an active membership with the ISA and TCIA. He holds the credential of ISA Board Certified Master Arborist and also holds a Tree Risk Assessment Qualification and a CTSP credential from the TCIA. He was awarded the Trees Florida, Florida Chapter, International Society of Arboriculture Loren Westenberger Award in 2014.

Lead Arborist - Bonita Bay Community
Santiago Roman has been the lead arborist for the Bonita Bay Community Association for approximately seven years. He discovered this career calling by a combination of his love for the outdoors and a family landscape business. He generously offers his translation services in order to help share safety tips to the Spanish-speaking arborist community. Santiago is the recipient of the Florida ISA Award of Distinction in 2015.

CARSON SMITH
Operations Manager - O’Neil’s Tree Service
Carson Smith is employed by O’Neil’s Tree Service in Palm Harbor, FL, where he serves as operations manager.  Climbing has been a passion of his since his career starting in 2008 in Evansville, Indiana after his service in the United States Marine Corps.  As Operations Manager, his duties include training, advancing safety, and managing crew to provide the highest standard of tree care. Carson is an ISA Certified Arborist, ISA Certified Tree Worker Climber Specialist, and a TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional.  He currently serves as chairman for the Florida ISA’s Climber Committee and climber representative for the Education Committee.  Carson has been active in the TCC as a climbing competitor and instructor at the Outdoor Tree School.
