2020 Water Storage Basics Workshop - Online 

Part 1 - Tuesday December 8th starting at 8:00 AM

Part 2 - Tuesday December 15th starting at 8:00 AM

Both workshops will end before noon each day

Presented by the Northwest and Central Washington Subsections of PNWS-AWWA

A two-day presentation that provides a basic understanding of potable water storage.  Each session is independent and certified for 0.3 CEUs.  You can attend either or both sessions. Topics include:

Part 1 - Planning
  • Water Storage Basics
  • Soils & Seismic Considerations for Design
  • Structural Considerations for Design
  • Piping Connections
  • Pressure Tanks
  • Reservoir Water Quality
  • Large Reservoirs
Part 2 - Materials, Operation & Maintenance
  • Inspection of Water Storage Facilities
  • Sanitary Surveys of Finished Water Storage Facilities
  • Corrosion Control Methods for Water Storage Tanks
  • Post Seismic Event Survey
  • Tank Materials

0.3 CEUs Water CEU approvedfor each part

Cost is $60 for AWWA & WEF members and $120 for non-members.  If you or your utility are AWWA, WEF or PNCWA members you qualify for member rates. 

Workshops starts at 8:00 AM.  Workshops will conclude by noon.

Scholarships for small utilities - To encourage participation from small utilities (<500 connections) four scholarships for small system operators (who are AWWA members) are available. To receive the small system scholarship, please register and pay the registration fee.  Indicate on the form the name of your utility and number of connections.  If your registration is one of the first four received, your registration fee will be refunded following completion of the workshop.  First Come - First Served.

Cancellation Policy - If a registrant is unable to attend the workshop and a substitute within the organization can attend, please contact Jeff Lundt at jeff.lundt@kingcounty.gov to update the information.  If unable to attend or send a substitute contact the above at least one week before the workshop for a refund (minus a $10 processing fee).  Refunds after that time will not be given. 

If the workshop is cancelled due to lack of registration or another reason, full refunds will be given.
