The Big Picture

Intended audience: Head Start and Early Head Start Administrators, Coaches, Mentors, Teachers and Assistant Teachers 

In this two day training, participants will have the opportunity to step back to look at the “big picture” of Conscious Discipline focusing on implementation issues specific to Head Start and Early Head Start with a programmatic approach to infusing Conscious Discipline beyond the classroom.

 Conscious Discipline Implementation in Head Start and Early Head Start

 Abbi Kruse, Nationally Certified Conscious Discipline Instructor

Participants will explore how Conscious Discipline can be used to support children and families impacted by adverse childhood experiences and the parallels between Conscious Discipline (Safety, Connection, Problem Solving) and Trauma Informed Care (Safety, Connection, Managing Emotions).

This training examines how the powers and skills of Conscious Discipline can be applied not only to our work with children but to our interactions with coworkers and adult family members. 

 

Conscious Discipline - Back to Basics

Renee Sutherland, Conscious Discipline Certified Instructor

This session will cover the skills and classroom structures of Conscious Discipline for staff from programs that are new to Conscious Discipline and staff who are new to programs that implement Conscious Discipline.

 As a result of this event, participants will be able to increase the fidelity of their implementation of Conscious Discipline throughout their Head Start program.
