Human Capital Leaders in
Education Certification Program
COHORT 1 - July 10th-12th, 2018
offered in partnership with Battelle for Kids
Battelle for Kids (BFK), in collaboration with the American Association of School Personnel Administrators (AASPA), has developed the Human Capital Leaders in Education (pHCLE) certification program for human capital leaders in Pre-K–12 education.
The program equips human capital leaders to:
• Develop comprehensive human capital management systems (HCMS)
• Manage key human capital decisions, in areas such as workforce planning, recruitment, hiring, placement, compensation, promotion, and professional development
• Balance strategic and transactional HR practices
• Build a cohesive HCMS through branding and communication
• Maximize the use of data for continuous improvement
• Implement federal policies impacting human capital in education.
The pHCLE certification program is designed for individuals who manage, evaluate, or lead people to fulfill the goals of the organization as they are responsible for the growth of others such as Executive Directors, Directors, Human Resources Staff, and/or Managers with HR responsibilities.
TRAINING EXPERIENCE: (total of 64 hours of professional learning)
- three days of in-person training
- access to 43 hours of online courses
A portion of the online learning will be assigned as pre-work in preparation for the in-person training. The remainder will be completed afterwards. The online courses are available through BFK’s learning management system.

- certification exam study guide
- Battelle for Kids’ human capital management system assessment
- access to the LinkedIn HCLE community
- HCLE Exam - 2.5-hour online exam - upon passing the exam individuals will receive their Professional Human Capital Leader in Education Certificate
