Call for Volutneers! 

Carroll Museums is hosting the All American House, a special design exhibition at the Carroll Mansion from May 1 thru July 10, 2016. A project of MADE:In American, the All American House brings together student design teams from leading universities and award-winning manufacturers to reimaging the historic Carroll Mansion in a contemporary light. Carroll Museums is hosting the All American House 2016 to build awareness and support the revitalization of the Carroll Mansion, a historic Baltimore landmark.

We are now recruiting volunteers to assist us during the All American House. If you have good “people skills,” are excited about the history of the Carroll Mansion, the extraordinary design process and finished product of the All American House, and are able to share that knowledge and enthusiasm with visitors - We Want You!

Volunteer positions include room docent, greeter, floater, and admission and gift shop sales. Room docents will greet visitors, answer questions, and give a brief explanation of the design process for the room you represent. Admission sales will sell admission tickets at the door (via charged or cash payments) and process pre-paid tickets. Gift Shop sales will process charged and cash payments.

Volunteers will receive training, information materials, and have time to become familiar with all the rooms on exhibit. Volunteers must be willing and able to learn the basic knowledge of the property, information about the participating design teams, featured manufacturers, and project partners.

Volunteer shifts will be 3-4 hours. There are 2 shifts per day. Volunteers will be needed Wednesday, Friday, Saturday 10-4, Thursday 1-8 and Sunday 1-5pm. 

A minimum commitment of 20 hours during the run of the exhibit is preferred. Volunteers must be able to climb stairs and stand for extended periods.  The mansion is not fully accessible for people with physical disabilities.

Persons interested in applying for a volunteer position at this premier design event must complete an AAH Volunteer Application and submit it along with a resume to phankins@carrollmuseums.org.
