The SFAS Audio Expert Seminars

Roger Modjeski on Amplification

Greetings!

You know, I wasn't quite sure how we were going to match the excitement from our last Audio Expert event on loudspeaker design with Albert Von Schweikert – but sometimes, ya just get lucky... and boy did we ever! Only a few days ago, when the stars must have aligned perfectly or something, an audio industry expert respected around the world for his game-changing innovations, passion and unapoligetic opinions (backed by his own research), moved up to the Bay Area from southern California!

Roger This will be a very special opportunity to meet with, learn from, and discuss the ins and outs of high-end audio amplification with another of our industry's luminaries, Roger Modjeski. Roger's four decades of researching, designing, testing and building audio equipment (especially amplifiers) has made him a well-regarded authority in the industry. Ultimately, his vast experience, creative problem solving, and adamant refusal to accept conventional wisdom makes him one of very few inspired, qualified and active teachers of high-performance audio design in the world. Yes, teacher – he loves to teach this stuff! Did I mention how lucky we just got?

I asked Roger to cover questions about amplifier design that have probably been lurking around many an audiophile mind for... well, forever – and I don't mean just those new to the hobby! For example, what exactly is meant by the terms OTL, Push-Pull, or Class A, A/B, D? How about the issue of Tubes vs. Solid State, NOS vs. New? Bi-Amping, Tri-Amping, Balanced or Single ended? Etc, etc...This presentation and demo will be like wonderland for anyone who loves learning about audio amplification. Personally, I can’t wait.

We will convene at Leslie's beautiful home in the East Bay, at 10:00AM on the morning of Saturday, September 20th, rain or shine. Lunch by Chef Leslie will follow the presentation and is included in the admission price..

To augment your lunch, you're welcome to bring a bottle of wine and/or something else to share with your friends. As usual, there will be time for shmoozing and cavorting after the seminar.

Important for all new members: if you'd like to attend, please don't wait – all our events completely sell out – and a reminder to everyone of how quickly our last event sold out. If you want to be at this one, please register now.

Looking forward to seeing you there!
