Being (again) Stewards of the Mysteries: Pastor as Mediator of the Holy 

In his elegant little book, Pastor: A Spirituality, Gordon Lathrop invites those who serve Christian assemblies to return again to central things for renewal, for re-imagining the what and why and how of what they do. This day will be a time to look at our own ministries-what we have neglected or lost; what we cannot live without; what we should probably discard; and what we might need to add-so that we can be, to borrow a phrase from another pastor, Robert Hovda, "strong, loving and wise" among the people whom we are charged to serve, to empower, to heal, to usher into the presence of the Holy, and to share Holy food and drink.

Facilitator, Dr. W. Scott Haldeman, serves as Associate Professor of Worship at Chicago Theological Seminary where he also directs the DMin degree programs. His primary research interest is in the history, theology and practice of US Protestant worship.

The cost for the Periodic Support Consultation is $35.

Optional lunch is $10.

The registration deadline is October 3.

All authorized ministers need to fill the Periodic Support Consultation requirement every three years to maintain standing in the association. If you are an authorized minister who is retired and no longer performing ministerial functions, you may be exempt from this requirement.
