Please Join Us in Honoring America’s Military Families This July 4th

72-Hour Tennis Marathon Challenge 
Help us break the Guinness World Record for Most Consecutive Opponents in Tennis Singles! Bonnie Vona of the USTA Mid-Atlantic Section—with the assistance of world-renowned expert in sport science and human performance Dr. Mark Kovacs (Executive Director, International Tennis Performance Association and Director, Life Sport Science Institute)—will attempt to break the Guinness World Record for Most Consecutive Opponents (Tennis Singles) in a 72-Hour Marathon Challenge. Bonnie will begin Friday, July 1, and will conclude her feat on the morning of July 4 to officially kick off the holiday events. Register to play or sponsor a match against Bonnie to be a part of the World Record!

July 4th Family Festival
Join us for a day of tennis at Montgomery TennisPlex to celebrate our nation’s independence and support military families! Everyone in attendance on July 4 will have the opportunity to participate in Maryland's Largest Tennis Clinic. Racquets will be provided for players ranging from beginner to professional to experience a clinic like no other. Additional activities will include a Junior Firecracker Open L8 Tennis Tournament, serving machine contest, military appreciation, raffles and giveaways, Germantown Glory Fireworks, and "Racquets & Rockets!" Adult Tennis and Fireworks Party.

All funds raised will benefit the ThanksUSA military family scholarship program.
Sponsor benefits will include promotional opportunities and visibility to 30,000 attendees, as well as participation in the Guinness World Record and Adaptive Tennis events taking place. The events will be promoted in print and social media platforms and televised through TV morning shows and live-streaming cameras.

Veterans Adaptive Tennis Clinic
This adaptive clinic is designed for wounded service members and will take place on June 17 to honor military families through the sport of tennis. The clinic will be led by Brenda Gilmore, PTR Adaptive Tennis Certified and 2015 PTR Maryland Member of the Year, along with Elliott Datlow, 2014 USTA Mid-Atlantic Tennis Professional of the Year. Montgomery TennisPlex, 2014 USTA National Facility of the Year, will host the clinic for veterans and their families followed by a sponsor reception.
