Upcoming Construction Contracting Opportunities 2022

Please join ACPWA on February 3rd for our 2022 B.O.B Virtual Event Series kick-off! This is the first of a series of informational virtual events targeting local businesses interested in working with ACPWA.

Join us to learn more about upcoming contracting opportunities in 2022 with

  • Alameda County Public Works Agency
  • East Bay Municipal Utilities District
  • Alameda County Transportation Commission
Take this opportunity to network with other firms and key Agency representatives. We encourage small, local, disadvantaged, minority, and women contractors to attend.

What is the Building Opportunities for Business Program (B.O.B.)?

Building Opportunities for Business (BOB) was created by the Alameda County Public Works Agency to:

  • Promote economic growth, local employment, and business development within Alameda County
  • Partner with other agencies (Alameda County General Services Agency, AC Transit, Alameda County Transportation Commission, East Bay Municipal Utility District, and others) to present upcoming construction, professional services and supplier vendor opportunites
  • Sponsor business development and technical assistance workshops, including the highly successful Annual Contractor Academy, which helps small, local businesses to become competitive public contract bidders
  • Host networking events that promote local business-to-business and business-to-agency relationship building
  • Increase the number of local Minority, Women, Disadvantaged (M/W/DBE) and Small Local Emerging Business (SLEB) contractors and consultants that participate in the Agency’s contracting process
  • Assist prime contractors to meet business participation goals associated with the County’s Construction Compliance Program and Federal Disadvantaged Business Enterprise program

B.O.B. Virtual Event Series

Beginning in February 2022 and extending throughout the summer, these events provide a unique opportunity for local businesses—including minority, women, and small business owners—to learn about upcoming contracting opportunities. As well as gaining insight into industry trends and information, attendees can make connections with key Public Works Agency staff members, and other Alameda County contracting and certifying agencies. These were previously presented in person, however, to ensure the safety of our hosts, partners, and participants we have moved this event series to a virtual format.
