Attracting Talent to Your Organization

If you're a small or startup organization, it can be a challenge to get the right people on the bus and in the right seats. Our presenter will share what she's learned about attracting leaders with the skills and connections you need on your board, and how to help new leaders evolve over time. And if you are preparing to move from being an all-volunteer organization to having your first staff person, she'll offer ideas for how you can decide what you most need in that individual. Lastly, you'll learn about how to foster an equitable, inclusing environment that supports the success of everyone in your organization will also be shared. 

Note that this training is designed for small nonprofits, though everyone is welcome to participate.

Since 2007, Allison Handler has worked with nonprofit organizations and local governments on strategic planning, organizational assessment, business development, fundraising planning and financial feasibility. She loves nonprofit management consulting: helping groups - sometimes on the fly - work through a thorny patch to see a clear road ahead. She knows the challenges firsthand, having been in the nonprofit and public sector trenches. As a nonprofit board leader, executive director and staff member, she has wrestled with the same kinds of issues and questions as many of Solid Ground's clients.
