presents

"Taking ACTion on OCD"

Does Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) take away from important aspects of your life?  Do you wonder what would it be like to have unwanted, intrusive thoughts come and go without reacting to them?  You might need a little ACTion!  This presentation focuses on how to get your life back from OCD.  It will provide an introduction to a form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) called Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).  ACT has been found useful in conjunction with Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), the gold standard treatment for OCD.  This presentation will discuss key treatment components and provide knowledge of how it may benefit you to take ACTion on your OCD.

Dr. Erica Wagner-Heimann is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Co-Director of Doctoral Practicum Training at the Anxiety & Agoraphobia Treatment Center.  Dr. Wagner has expertise in working with children, adolescents and adults with anxiety and other related disorders, including obsessive compulsive disorder.  Dr. Wagner provides Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and other empirically supported, effective treatment.
