Elementary Math - Shoring Up the Core 

The focus of this training is on beginning to understand how to use data based decision making (Math Core Review Meetings) to address math core needs. In addition, practical instructional strategies will be shared to address whole and small group math needs. The training will allow districts to begin to develop standards of practice in Math Core Review meetings, practice the Math Core Review process and develop and refine standards of practice for math core instructional practices.

This one-day training will cover:

• Overview of Math Core Review Meetings
• Whole group math instructional strategies
• Small group math instructional strategies
• Guided Practice in Math Core Review Meetings

What to bring?

Choose a grade level and bring the following:

• Fall Screening Data (e.g., easyCBM, Acadience Math, iReady)
• Core program assessment data (if available)
• Other math assessments that have been used that may be helpful

Who should attend? Memebers of the District Implementation Leadership Team should register for this training. It is essential that each person who plans to attend completes the registration process so that we have accurate information for planning. Please contact your ORTIi Coach if you have any questions about who should register.

When: September 24th 8:15am - 4:00pm (check in opens at 8:00am)

Where: Roth's IGA Event Center 1130 Wallace Rd NW, Salem, Or 97304 (park in the event center parking lot at the back of the building, not the grocery store parking).

Lunch and coffee service will be provided. We can accommodate the folowing restrictions: vegetarian, vegan, gluten free and dairy free. If you have restrictions other than these, please plan to provide your own  meal.
