Holiday Adopt-A-Client 

The holiday season is fast approaching and Aurora is looking for some folks in a jolly mood to help us purchase gifts for our clients!  Aurora has a dedicated Street Outreach Team and also many housing programs that help Families and Individuals from homelessness to housed.  Would you be willing to “Adopt” a client today? 

To adopt, please read the guidelines below and click on the picture at the bottom.

Vision 1505

Vision 1505 is home to 32 formerly homeless families, including over 40 children that have high barriers to housing.

Adoption guidelines:

• Purchase  (2) articles of new clothing and/or household item(s)
• 1 "special request" item 
• Staff will provide family information to donors including a wish list and sizes. Gifts should be delivered, unwrapped to Aurora, 1001 Mary Street on the following days and times:

• Wednesday, December 2 from 9:00-1:00
• Thursday, December 3 from 9:00-1:00
• Friday, December 4 from 9:00-1:00

Rapid Rehousing/Re-Entry Program/Housing First/Beacon

For those individuals/families who have recently been housed through our rental assistance programs their Christmas will be brighter with a few gifts.

Adoption guidelines:

• Purchase  (2) articles of new clothing and/or household item(s)
• 1 "special request" item 
• Staff will provide family information to donors including a wish list and sizes. Gifts should be delivered, unwrapped to Aurora, 1001 Mary Street on the following days and times:

• Wednesday, December 2 from 9:00-1:00
• Thursday, December 3 from 9:00-1:00
• Friday, December 4 from 9:00-1:00

Homeless Street Outreach

For some of our clients, having a place they can call home may not happen during the winter months ahead. For those who are not sheltered, simple gifts of basic necessities can fuel hope and assure each one that he or she is not forgotten during the holiday season.

Adoption guidelines:

• Purchase  (2) articles of new clothing
•  1 "special request" 
• Purchase a few basic necessity items such as underwear, hygiene products, gloves, etc.
• Note:  Typical investment is $50-$80 per client. Gifts should be delivered, unwrapped to Aurora, 1001 Mary Street on the following days and times:

• Wednesday, December 2 from 9:00-1:00
• Thursday, December 3 from 9:00-1:00
• Friday, December 4 from 9:00-1:00

For all  programs, donors who would like to adopt a family or individual, but do not wish to shop, can provide a monetary donation and a volunteer will shop for you. To adopt a family or individual and have another person shop, please contact Rose Duran at rduran@auroraevansville.org
