This presentation is based on the work of Jeffrey Young. This workshop will assist clinicians in case conceptualization and identifying the "core" issues that a client faces. Life traps or schemas are unconsciuos patterns of behavior that we repeat throughout our lives. If you have ever said, "Why do I attract the same person/event/circumstances in my life?", chances are, you are in a life trap. In this lecture, we will identify our own life traps and understand how they have impacted our decisions. We will also learn how to assist clients identify their own.

Presented by: Anjana Deshpande, LCSW
Anjana Deshpande works with both clients and clinicians who wish to get acquainted with the transformative power of writing. In addition to being an MSW from Widener University, Anjana is also a Certified Journal and Poetry Therapist. A published author, two of Anjana's papers on her work with the elderly and veterans have appeared in the Journal of Poetry Therapy. As a therapist, Anjana works with a wide variety of individuals, and finds several ways to use writing techniques to help empower her clients. Anjana works with trauma, grief and loss issues, relationships and lfie transitions. At present she is working as the Program Coordinator for the Horsham Clinic Adult Partial Program
