                Communicating with Employees in Turbulent Times:                                                       A Panel Discussion

During times of crisis and great change, much is made about communicating to external audiences. But it’s equally important to consider the special communications needs of internal stakeholders. Join IABC St. Louis Thursday, May 25 as Weber Shandwick moderates a panel of local experts who'll provide their first-hand experiences and points of view on communicating internally during crises, mergers, leadership changes and under other turbulent circumstances.

Panelists from Nestle Purina, Anheuser-Busch and Saint Louis University will share best practices and special considerations for ensuring internal audiences are appropriately informed, educated and empowered – and give some other practical insights that can applied in these situations.

Meet the Panelists:

  Jessica Lillie Clillieciccone_headshoticcone

  Jessica is the Director of Communications at Saint Louis University School of Law. She  leads all marketing and communications activities for the law school, including leadership communications, faculty thought leadership publicity, alumni and development communications, internal and external issues management, media relations, digital/social communications, and development of marketing and fundraising collateral. Jessica will discuss communicating in a time of change, especially when leadership, principles, and community clash.

  Mark Pierce 

  Mark is Director of Internal Communications at Nestlé Purina. He has been with the company for 17 years, serving in internal communications roles. He currently leads a team that handles everything internally – including organizational news and announcements, event planning, change communication, executive leadership team support, and other topics. Mark offers invaluable insight for communicating with internal stakeholders when there is controversy surrounding key products.

  Katie Petru 

 As Manager, Corporate Communications at Anheuser-Busch, Katie oversees corporate communications for the U.S. company, with specific emphasis on government affairs, corporate social responsibility, media relations, and crisis preparedness & issues management. Katie will discuss the importance of putting employees first during change, issues, and crises.
