2021 International SBMA Research Conference

Spinal and bulbar muscular atrophy (SBMA) is a unique neurodegenerative disease caused by the expansion of a CAG trinucleotide repeat within the X-linked androgen receptor gene. In the 30 years since the genetic mutation was identified, substantial research has revealed many of the detailed molecular and cellular mechanisms that play a role in disease. Despite these substantial advances, there is still much that is unknown about the molecular pathogenic mechanisms mediating disease manifestations in SBMA. This International SBMA Research Conference gathers SBMA researchers from across the globe to discuss recent and ongoing research and therapeutic advances in SBMA.

The conference will be presented on the Zoom platform and will run five hours each day from 9:00-2:00 EDT, Wednesday through Friday, 20-22 October.

Abstract Submission:

Presentation titles and abstracts are welcome and must be submitted by October 1, 2021 for consideration for a 15 minute talk or a poster presentation (posters will be presented in Zoom breakout rooms from 1:00 – 2:00 pm EDT on October 21 and October 22). Presenters will be notified by October 10, 2021 regarding the status of presentation request.
