SPEAKERS
ERIK MILITO is the Director of Upstream and Industry Operations for the American Petroleum Institute (API), which is the national trade association representing more than 500 companies involved in all aspects of the oil and gas industry, including exploration production, refining and transportation. Mr. Milito’s work covers regulatory and legislative matters related to domestic exploration and production, including access to domestic oil and natural gas resources both onshore and offshore.
SEN. JONATHAN DISMANG represents Senate District 28—Prairie County and parts of Arkansas, Lonoke, Monroe, White and Woodruff Counties. Serving his second term in the Arkansas Senate, he is chairman of Joint Budget Committee (JBC) – Special Language for the 89th General Assembly.
REP. JEREMY GILLAM, of Judsonia, is serving his second term in the Arkansas House of Representatives. He represents District 49, which encompasses part of White County. Rep. Gillam serves on the House Judiciary Committee, the Agriculture, Forestry, and Economic Development Committee and the Arkansas Legislative Council.
MARY BARRETT is sedimentary and petroleum geologist and oilfield historian with professional backgrounds in both academia and industry. She received BS and MS degrees in geology from Stephen F. Austin State University. She then worked for Mobil Oil in Dallas in the early 1980s. She was granted an educational leave of absence from Mobil, attended the Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, Maryland, and received her Ph.D. in Geology. Dr. Barrett’s dissertation focused on the Smackover Formation, its reservoir development and fluid-rock interactions.
ANN MCELHINNEY is a filmmaker and investigative journalist. She has produced documentaries for the BBC, CBC and RTE. McElhinney is one of the directors and producers of FrackNation, a feature documentary which premiered in 2013, and aims to address alleged misinformation about the process of hydraulic fracturing.
LAWRENCE BENGAL, Director of the Arkansas Oil and Gas Commission. He holds a degree in Geology from the University of Wisconsin and has over 30 years experience in the public and private sector. He also currently serves as a Commissioner on the Arkansas Pollution Control and Ecology Commission.
JAMES L. WILLIAMS, an energy economist, is president of WTRG Economics. He has more than 30 years’ experience analyzing and forecasting energy markets as a consulting economist. He publishes WTRG’s Energy Economist Newsletter and is widely quoted on oil and natural gas issues in the media. His clients and subscribers include major oil companies, investment banks, large energy consumers, brokerage firms, energy traders, local, state and U.S. government agencies.
MARTY DURBIN is president and CEO of America’s Natural Gas Alliance. Mr. Durbin came to ANGA after serving as executive vice president at the American Petroleum Institute (API), where he led advocacy efforts on behalf of the oil and gas industry. As API’s executive vice president, he was integrated the group’s government affairs, communications, policy and legal initiatives.
MURRAY WILLIAMS is a senior tax manager at Southwestern Energy in Houston. He serves as chairman of AIPRO’s Tax Committee and is active with the Louisiana Oil & Gas Association (LOGA) and the Council of Petroleum Accountants (COPAS). He holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting and is pursuing an MBA. He has worked in the accounting field in the petroleum industry for almost 20 years.
NANCY MCNALLY is a leading member of the VanNess Feldman’s government relations team. Her practice focuses on developing and managing government policy programs for Fortune 20 companies, municipal entities, trade associations, and national coalitions. Her experience includes working with clients to design, implement, and manage legislative and public policy strategies, and advocating on behalf of firm clients before Congress and federal agencies.
