The First Congress at IFSO Hamburg 

Dear Collegue,

 

On behalf of the International Bariatric Club (IBC), in cooperation with the International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders (IFSO), it is my great honour and pleasure to invite you to our First Congress in Hamburg, Germany.
 
The International Bariatric Club was established over three years ago with the mission of exchanging knowledge and experience among bariatric surgeons around the world. We are very active, organizing monthly videoconferences and providing daily online discussions that encompass various clinical and other aspects of current bariatric and metabolic issues. World class surgeons regularly present and comment on recent articles within the scheduled online Webex videoconference forum, as well as join in response to discussion and questions posed to the group by members online. This latter non-video online discussion occurs within our renowned IBC Facebook Group, which hosts enlightening discourse among hundreds of bariatric professionals who exchange ideas and personal experience for the benefit of all members on a daily basis.
 
This September, we are meeting the first time in person, not online, to get to know each other and together build a strong global platform within the bariatric community for the benefit of our patients. It is an excellent time to become involved as we forge ahead with sharing future club plans, clinical perspectives on current surgical techniques, and global perspectives on the hot topics uncovered by our online discourse.
 
Thanks to the IFSO, and personally Prof. Rudolph Weiner, the International Bariatric Club will meet for the first time at the site of the IFSP World Congress. Please consider attending our Congress if you are planning to come to Hamburg for IFSO.
