Nutcracker Dance Auditions: September 2nd

Ages 3 to 12 - 3:30pm - 5:00pm

Ages 13 and up 7:00 - 8:30 pm

Children must be 3 years old by September 2, 2010. Students may audition for more than one role if they meet the skill requirement.

Audition will consist of the following:

Ensemble cast roles are required to learn a simple dance.

Lead roles will be required, prior to audition to prepare a 1 to 2 minute classical dance. These participants will show  their prepared dance as well as learn an ensemble dance at the audition.

Rehearsals for some roles may begin as early as September 13th, Dancers selected to dance in THE NUTCRACKER will be required to attend ALL rehearsals scheduled for their part. The rehearsal schedule will be posted at the audition.  Lead roles (Nutcracker, Clara, Fritz, Drosselmeyer, Sugar Plum Fairy, Mother Ginger, Dolls, Party Guests) will require enrollment in production class. All cast members will be required to attend the full ensemble rehearsals one and two weeks prior to the performance.

Nutcracker Participation fees:  Standard class participation fee (55 - 60 per month). (September 6th - December 18th) plus Production Fee: Cast member $68 Lead role $135. Nutcracker production fee includes the cost of rehearsal personnel, costume, and administration. Additional costume fees will be assessed for participants in multiple roles.

Nutcracker Musician Auditions: September 9th

6:00pm - 8:00pm

Students must be between the ages of 10 and 22 by September 9, 2010. Students may audition on more than one instrument if they meet the skill requirement.

Audition will consist of the following:

Prepared piece no longer than one minute. Two major scales of your choice. Site reading excerpt from Nutcracker

Rehearsals will begin as early as September 23rd. Musicians selected to participate in THE NUTCRACKER will be required to attend ALL rehearsals scheduled for their part. The rehearsal schedule will be posted at the audition.

Participation requires enrollment in the music ensemble class as this is where you will learn your part. All music ensemble participants will be required to attend the full ensemble rehearsal one and two weeks prior to the performance.

Nutcracker Production Fees: Standard class participation $60 per month ($180)  (September 20 - December 18) plus production fee of $20.

Nutcracker production fee includes the cost of rehearsal personnel, music, and administration.
