2017 TSS Kick-Off

Bridging Early Childhood and Kindergarten in Your Community 

In the splendor of the historic Akron Civic Theatre, we invite you to come celebrate with us as we share your successes and kick-off the Transition Skills Summary (TSS) process for the New Year. This new FREE event will not only connect preschool directors and staff with elementary principals, kindergarten teachers and others working with young children in your community, but it will also show attendees how the TSS is being used in valuable ways to improve school readiness and inform kindergarten programs throughout the county. Many schools and their staff have contributed to TSS success over the past 6 years, and we want to thank YOU for your support!

Summit Education Initiative, along with Child Care Connection, State Support Team Region 8 and Summit County First Things First, will host the event from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 19, 2017* at the Akron Civic Theatre. Beginning at 5 p.m., enjoy appetizers and beverages as you connect with others in your community. A brief presentation will begin around 6 p.m. (View the agenda here.) Hear how kindergarten programs are using the TSS information and learn how to get involved in readiness efforts in your community. At the conclusion of the evening, all those who have registered for the TSS will be entered into a drawing to win a tablet!
