The Ohio Defense Summit for Business will focus on increasing Ohio jobs by growing the share of goods and services we provide to the Department of Defense. Through collaboration between businesses, universities, State and federal Defense entities throughout Ohio, we can cultivate innovative opportunities for both national security and job security of Ohioans.

In cooperation with special guest, Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur, the Ohio Defense Summit for Business is a two-day event showcasing the changing needs of the Department of Defense, the strength of Ohio industry and academia, and the resources available to Ohio businesses.  The Summit will introduce Department of Defense officials to all Ohio has to offer, including a visit to the world-unique NASA Plum Brook Station for all participants!

Expected government participants include the Office of Secretary of Defense (SECDEF invited), Special Operations Command, Army/Air Force/Navy SBIR/STTR, various commands within the Departments of the Air Force, Army, Navy, Marines, also DARPA, NASA, Department of Energy, and CENTCOM Tech Scouts. 

 Ohio innovators participating will include General Electric, Parker Hannifin, ZIN Technologies, L3 Technology, Teledyne Turbine, Boeing, GD Land Systems, the Cleveland Clinic, Sierra Nevada, Arconic, Meggitt, Timken, Battelle, and dozens of other large and small enterprises.  JobsOhio and regional partners, Greater Cleveland Partnership, and the Ohio Development Services Agency, will showcase Ohio business support offerings.

 The agenda will include presentations by SECDEF (invited), Ohio’s Congressional delegation, DoD Tier One Ohio Suppliers, Office of the Undersecretary of Defense, NASA, Ohio Federal Research Network, and organizations listed above.
