"How Minnesota's New and Amended Education Statutes Apply to You"

Join us for a FREE Webinar with Minnesota Department of Education Dyslexia Specialist, Dr. Amy Schulting

State education law in Minnesota will change in mid-2020. We want you to understand those changes, and provide an opportunity to to learn more from trusted sources. This webinar is intended for: higher education faculty, teachers in training, in-service teachers, administrators and parents.

The webinar, led by Dr. Amy Schulting, Dyslexia Specialist with the Minnesota Department of Education, will focus on the following changes to state law:

(1) Minnesota schools must screen students for signs of dyslexia; and

(2) Teacher preparation programs must provide instruction to teachers in training in applying evidence-based, structured reading instruction and how to identify students with dyslexia.

Discussion groups have been meeting this summer to talk through the changes to legislation in advance of this webinar; however, participation in a discussion group is not required to attend the webinar.

To view the resource materials provided to the discussion groups, please visit the HELP website here and scroll down to "DOWNLOADS".
