Aspen Presents AeroCamp Basic

Monday-Friday, June 19-23
9:00am-4:00pm Daily

Aspen Flying Club is pleased to present AeroCamp Basic - a weeklong summer day program that gives young people, middle school students age 13-15, a unique opportunity to explore the world of aviation and aerospace.

Young, aspiring aviators will spend the week with us participating in hands-on activities and learning experiences. AeroCampers will learn firsthand about the dynamics of airplanes and flight and about the broad spectrum of careers in the aviation and aerospace industry.

Part of this exciting week will include at least one flight in an actual airplane plus some simulator flying experiences. However, flight time is only a fraction of the AeroCamp experience and is not required to have a great learning adventure. AeroCamp also includes site visits to various air traffic control facilities and aviation-related organizations.

AeroCamp covers these topics and more:

  • What makes an airplane fly
  • Who flies airplanes / careers in aviation
  • Flight controls and instruments
  • How to conduct a pre-flight inspection
  • Basic information on radio communications
  • Learn about airport traffic patterns
  • Learn the basics of aeronautical charts

And much more information to follow once you have registered.

Tuition is $795 for the week.

  • A deposit of $400 is due upon registration.
  • The remaining $395 is due May 1st.
  • Cancellation/refund policy: Cancellations received prior to May 1st will receive a full refund of your deposit. Cancellations received after May 1st are eligible for a 50% refund.

Registration deadline is June 1st. Space is limited to maximize each camper's experience. Sign up today to reserve your spot! Please contact us with questions.
