Powerful & Effective First Impressions

Come join us for this FREE event sponsored by Manasota SCORE, Manatee County Public Library Information Services and Manatee County Economic Development Division.  Refreshments provided by the Friends of the Central Library.

As the old saying goes, “you will never get a second chance to make a first impression.” Don’t leave your valuable first impression to chance! In this session, Tami Wankoff, owner of WB Communication, and Jack Morris, both certified SCORE mentors, will illustrate how preparation is key to stellar first impressions. Attendees will learn about the value of the first impression, in-person vs. electronic impressions, verbal and visual elements, and how to develop a 30-Second Elevator Pitch. Entrepreneurs are encouraged to bring their questions about how to put their best foot forward in business interactions.

Our Speakers:

Tami Wankoff is a graduate from Adelphi University in 1987 with a BA in Communications.  Tami’s technical background includes being an AT&T/Lucent/Avaya Systems Engineer.  She moved to Lakewood Ranch 16 years ago and began working privately for Indian Tribal owned casinos, large physical fitness chains, and a top 10 law firm in the country.  In 2010 Tami launched CTA - A Deposit Recovery company working from her living room.  The company grew to a staff of 12 with the average client obtaining back $1M in checks from the various Unclaimed State Property Departments.  Tami sold CTA in early 2016. Tami's strengths include recognizing the importance of details, creating and motivating group work environments coupled with cultivating employee strengths.

Jack Morris is a career marketing & advertising professional with over 35 years of experience in: brand management, retail food, full-service ad agency (for Chick fil-A and Georgia-Pacific), and hospitality (lodging, dining, recreation, and special events).
