BarbaraBarbara Bayless Lacy, author of NANISE', A Navajo Hebal, was a former public relations/researcher with the Navajo Health Authority (NHA), a federally funded agency directed to improve healthcare on the Reservation. Barbara’s task was to collect previously published information about Navajo traditional medicine. Once collected, she developed a user-friendly resource book that would showcase to the world the deep understanding Navajos have of plants that grow in the harsh Southwestern region.

DeeDuring the years in which she practiced chemistry, Dee McCaffrey, author of The Science of Skinny, became intimately familiar with the chemical names and toxic properties of the majority of common environmental pollutants, particularly those used in and on America's food supply.  She made the connection that pesticides, preservatives, flavorings, colorings, and refined carbohydrates affect body chemistry in such a way that balanced health is difficult to sustain.  It was this understanding that led to a dramatic transformation in her life, she overcame a lifelong battle with obesity by eliminating processed foods from her diet.  The result was a 100-pound weight loss, which she has sustained for 20 years.

GladysDr. Gladys Taylor McGarey, author of The Physician Within You, has been a family physician for more than 60 years and is board certified in holistic and integrative medicine. Born in India to medical missionaries, she is internationally known for her pioneering work in holistic medicine, natural birthing and the physician-patient partnership.  Dr. Gladys (as she likes to be called) helped co-found the American Holistic Medical Association in 1978, and is widely known as the “Mother of Holistic Medicine.” Her work through her foundation, The Gladys Taylor McGarey Medical Foundation has helped expand the knowledge and application of holistic principles through scientific research and education, and is helping bridge the gap between traditional and holistic medicine.

ToddDr. Todd Rowe, author of Desert Medicine: A Homeopathic Exploration, is the president and a founder of the American Medical College of Homeopathy. He is a licensed homeopathic physician who has been practicing homeopathy for more than 20 years and has a full time practice in classical homeopathy.  He completed his homeopathic training at the Hahnemann College of Homeopathy in Albany, CA.  Dr. Rowe teaches extensively. He supervises homeopathic students and trains medical students and residents in classical homeopathy. He has published several distance learning courses designed to help prepare physicians for first aid and acute prescribing, as well as preparing for homeopathic licensing exams.

RobertOver the past two and a half decades, Robert O. Young, author of The pH Miracle, has been widely recognized as one of the top research scientists in the world. Throughout his career, his research has been focused at the cellular level. Having a specialty in cellular nutrition, Dr. Young has devoted his life to researching the true causes of "disease," subsequently developing "The New Biology™" to help people balance their life. The pH Miracle series has sold more than 400,000 copies and has more than ½ million copies in print as of April, 2009. The pH Miracle books have been translated into 17 languages and are gaining a widespread following internationally. Dr. Robert Young has devoted his career to the discovery of the missing pieces necessary to complete the larger picture of health.

PaulPaul Sweeney, D.O.M., author of Health over Harmony,  is a licensed Acupuncture Physician, NCCAOM Diplomate, Certified in Pediatric Mental Health, and a 4th Dan martial artist “Black belt”. Being raised by parents, both of whom were western medical professionals, made him well aware of the pros and cons of western medicine. After finishing his formal undergraduate and graduate education in New England, he spent ten years in various Asian clinics, hospitals, temples, and martial-art dojo trying to use his understanding of people, microbiology, Oriental medicine/philosophy, and martial-arts to understand the nature of mental and physical imbalances and illness and how to address it. Sweeney Sensei now teaches, lectures, and does clinical work centering on Oriental medical theory, acupuncture, homeopathy, martial-arts, raw foods, and mental health.
