Men's and Women's Beyond Abuse Retreat

Committed to Freedom's Beyond Abuse Retreats are for people who have experienced the intimate violation of abuse. We offer spiritual tools to help survivors move beyond their abuse. While our approach is from a Christian perspective, we never use Scripture or religion to manipulate or as a weapon. Instead, through the spiritual tools offered, we help you to discover spiritual health and hope. Christians, seekers and doubters are all welcome and treated with great respect and inclusion.

The Beyond Abuse Retreat does not focus on the past, but looks to the future. In other words, you will not sit around and talk about what happened to you. Instead, we consider the impact of past abuse on the current challenges you face, and then help you to put together a strategy for your future. We help you to determine how to best take ownership of your chilces and your life. You not only get tools to move Beyond Abuse, but you'll put them in a tool box and know how to use them!

Along with other survivors who understand, you will learn more than you can imagine; experience spiritual growth in new and intimate ways; and handle practical ideas through teaching small group workshops, art, music, personal prayer and quiet meditation, problem solving activites, metaphors, and community with others. This may be hard to believe, but you will even have moments of fun.

You don't have to be "falling apart" to have a life changing experiance at a Committed to Freedom Beyond Abuse Retreat. Many people attend who are well on their way toward healing. They just want to take some time out to connect with God, to receive comfort and understanding, and perhaps do a little fine-tuning for their journey.

This is the only Beyond Abuse Retreat scheduled for 2011. While this retreat is for both men and women, small group workshops and lodging are seperate. There are price reductions for early registration as well as attending with a partner. Final registration deadline is May 20, 2011.
