Advocacy Training

Advocacy is not just about protesting. Building relationships with policy makers and the media can be powerful ways to create change. In this webinar, the presenters will cover lobbying, media engagement, social media, and other advocacy methods that are not direct action.

Nicole Crescimanno is an organizer, connector, and artist who is deeply concerned about climate change. Nicole is working to build a strong and active group of young climate leaders from across New York State to enact bold state-level climate policy, while also developing and strengthening relationships with foundations, individual donors, and key partners.  Nicole co-leads the NYC chapter of Citizens’ Climate Lobby, is a Carbon Pricing Outreach Fellow with MIT’s Climate Co-Lab, a Young Climate Leaders Network Fellow, a StartingBloc Social Innovation Fellow, and a Producer for the web-series Climate Countdown. Nicole has her M.A. in Climate & Society from Columbia University, and her B.A. in Environmental Studies & Studio Arts from Stonehill College.

Robert Politzer is the President and Founder of GreenStreet of New York, Inc.  Under Mr. Politzer’s leadership, GreenStreet has grown from an environmental testing and abatement company to an innovative smart building and development firm, operating primarily in the tri-state region. the Mark Twain House Visitors Center in Hartford, CT which was the first LEED Certified Museum in the US; the Green Roof for the Manhattan-based Earthpledge Foundation; the first Green Townhouse project in Brooklyn with geothermal heating and cooling; and the Green Canteen restaurant which was the first LEED Certified Restaurant in NYS.
