Cost: $290 per person if registered April 1 - June 30, 2014
Cost: $320 per person if registered July 1 - September 30, 2014
Cost: $350 per person if registered October 1 - October 30, 2014

GEP Facilitator Training Schedule & Materials

Thursday, November 13: 9am - 6pm with 1 hour lunch break
Friday, November 14: 9am - 6pm with 1 hour lunch break
Saturday, November 15: 9am - 6pm with 1 hour lunch break
Sunday, November 16: 9am - 11am - Church service with DCC parents
Sunday, November 16: 12 noon - 6pm

One "Good Enough Parenting" book will be included with each paid registration.  We will ship the book to you prior to the workshop because you are strongly encouraged to read the book before the workshop. You will need to pay the cost of shipping.

 You will need to bring a laptop to the training sessions.

GEP Facilitator Training Speakers

Married for over 25 years with 2 adult children, John and Karen Louis have been in the full time ministry with the International Churches of Christ since 1985. They both hold a masters in counseling from Monash University of Melbourne, Australia, and are members of professional counseling associations in America, Australia and Singapore. John is a certified Schema Therapist and Karen is a certified Solution-Focused Therapist.

GEP Facilitator Training Highlights

Research has shown that when core emotional needs are not met during the formative years of a child, "Lifetraps" (schemas) will develop. These core emotional needs are:

• Connection and Acceptance
• Healthy Autonomy and Performance
• Reasonable Limits
• Realistic Expectations
• "plus-one" need of Spiritual Values and Community

While no one's parenting can ever be perfect, "Good Enough Parenting" offers a step-by-step guide on how parents can learn to meet these core needs, and provide parenting that is "good enough" to prevent "Lifetraps" from developing in their children. "Good Enough Parenting", a series of nine Christian parenting workshops, was developed by John and Karen Louis and is based on Schema Therapy founded by Dr. Jeffrey Young.

GEP Facilitator Training Certification

Participants will receive certification as facilitators for "Good Enough Parenting" program, access to website resources including video recordings of training sessions, program PowerPoint presentation, notes and a book authored by John and Karen Louis.

Important Note: In order to conduct the "Good Enough Parenting" program to your audience, you will need to have a set of over 20 DVDs. The list of these DVDs will be provided for you so you can purchase them at your convenience.
