Join us at Beyond Giftedness XXIV

The 2017 conference marks the 24th anniversary of Beyond Giftedness!  For the past 24 years, the conference has been offering current research, information and tools to those who work and live with gifted kids.

Featuring Keynote Speaker, Nadia E. Webb, Psy. D., ABPdN
Author of Misdiagnosis and Dual Diagnoses of Gifted Children and Adults, 1st and 2nd editions (Legacy Book Award Winner, ForeWord Magazine Book of the Year Award Winner, Arizona Book Award Winner)

Keynote: Whole Mind and Whole Brain

Intelligence is not static. The brain is a complex system that changes in response to social forces. “Psychological” experiences of loneliness, social support, affectionate touch, intellectual challenge, social stability or bullying can alter the brain at the smallest levels, including the lifespan of a neuron, as well as how we later think, learn and love as adults.

Nadia Webb, Psy.D., is a practicing neuropsychologist and faculty member at James Madison University. She is appointed within two departments: as Clinician in Residence in the Graduate Psychology Department and as Adjunct Faculty in the Communication Sciences and Disorders Doctoral Program. She serves on the Board of Directors of SENG (Supporting Emotional Needs of the Gifted) and consults with the Davidson Institute for Talent Development in its work with profoundly gifted youth.

Dr. Webb is active in several organizations serving brain-injured children and adults. Her work has received honors from the American Medical Association, the Department of Defense, and a personal citation by Governor Jane Hull of Arizona. She also serves in the American Psychological Association president’s cabinet.

Dr. Webb received both her Master’s and doctoral degrees from Rutgers University. She previously was awarded an M.A. in Clinical Psychology (with a focus on family therapy) from New College of California, and she has served as adjunct faculty for Rutgers University. She is certified as a marriage and family therapist, and is a Diplomate in Sports Psychology.
