Guest Speakers:

    Lee Weinstein, President, Weinstein PR
    Having experienced great PR results working with boutique PR agencies while directing communications for NIKE, Inc., Lee decided to start Weinstein PR in 2007. He is one of Oregon's most experienced and creative public relations professionals in global brand PR; employee, political and education communications; public affairs; and issues and crisis management. A Native Oregonian, Lee has a unique take on the importance of transparent, forward-thinking communications, having worked in the political arena for Oregon Congressman Ron Wyden, Insurance Commissioner Ted Kulongoski, and as Deputy Press Secretary to Governor Neil Goldschmidt. He has also directed nonprofit communications and marketing for Project Open Hand, the Bay Area's largest AIDS nonprofit. A resident of the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area, Lee is a member of The Dalles Area and Hood River County Chambers of Commerce, and served on the Board of Trustees of Maryhill Museum of Art from 2007-2016 and the Oregon Cultural Trust from 2010-2015. He is a cofounder of the Columbia Gorge Arts & Culture Alliance and Our Children's Store, a seasonal nonprofit gift shop that raised more than $1.5 million for children in crisis. Lee will discuss crisis communications. 
    Sue Dvonch, Partner, Shey-Harding Associates, Inc. 
    Susan Shey Dvonch is Managing Partner of Shey-Harding Executive Search, a transportation industry recruitment firm established in 1990. Since joining the firm in 2003, she has executed numerous searches at the C- level for companies throughout the US. The firms' clients include some of the nation's top seaports, ocean shipping lines, terminal operators, stevedoring companies and exporters. Susan received a Bachelor's Degree from Boston College in 1987. Before joining Shey-Harding, Susan was employed as Assistant Director of Admission at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. She serves on the Executive Board of the Los Angeles/Long Beach Propeller Club and on the Executive Committee of the International Propeller Club. She is a regular contributor to the Journal of Commerce and is a guest lecturer at the Center for International Trade and Transportation at California State University, Long Beach. Susan is a graduate of the 1995 class of Leadership Long Beach, a civic improvement program in Long Beach, CA. She is active in her daughters' sports and school activities and in her community as a member of the Race Committee for Run Seal Beach. Sue will discuss board/staff relationships. 

    Lori Eberly, Owner, Radius Executive Coaching & Development
    Lori Eberly is a licensed clinical social worker, executive coach, and the owner of Radius ECD. Some call her a mirror, or sounding board; but she has also been called a teacher, a teller of hard truths and even a cat herder. As a social worker, her lens is a strengths-based approach to understanding how we thrive and where we stall, and her expertise is recognizing patterns of human behavior, driving performance, momentum and collaboration.  Lori completed her Masters in social work in 2000 and has been licensed as a clinical social worker since 2007. Lori will conduct an interactive workshop on identifying and conquering obstacles to help build trust and collaboration with your team.

    Mary Bradbury Jones, Director of Professional Development and Training, Portland Community College & Former Dean, School of Business, Marylhurst University 
    Mary is a Training and Organizational Development expert who has spent over 25 years helping individuals and organizations learn, grow and develop. Mary has a Masters in Human Resources Development and a graduate certificate in Organizational Development. She has worked in a variety of industries - Retail, Hospitality, Financial, and Academia - working one on one with organizations to help them implement learning and development initiatives, develop leaders, execute change, and build learning organizations. Prior to coming to PCC, Mary was the Dean of the School of Business at Marylhurst University where she remains a faculty member. She teaches classes in management, leadership, and organizational behavior. Mary will lead a discussion on employee motivation.  

    Richard Mitchell, Partner, Miller Nash Graham & Dunn LLP & 
    General Counsel, Port of Longview, Washington USA
    Richard's practice focuses on real estate, land use, design and construction-related transactions, in addition to representing private entities and public agencies on a range of state, local and municipal issues. He represents both private companies and public entities as their outside General Counsel, including the Port of Longview, Washington USA. As the former General Counsel to Governor Christine Gregoire, Richard provided advice to Washington's Chief Executive Officer and her staff on a wide range of matters. Richard has substantial experience in complex commercial litigation, as well as in government affairs and public policy. Richard will give an important presentation on ethical issues and laws surrounding elected port commissioners. 

    Lillian Tsai, Consultant, TsaiComms
    Born and raised in Malaysian Borneo, award winner Lillian A. Tsai specializes in the facilitation, training, design and implementation of cross-cultural country specific workshops, and other intercultural communications and diversity and inclusion (D&I) programs. Prior to starting TsaiComms in 2002, she spent 25 years in global high tech marketing and communications, which included an expatriate assignment in Stuttgart, Germany. For the past 13 years, she has been working with global companies who have subsidiaries, joint ventures and/or suppliers in Chinese-speaking countries (China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan). She has also trained China-based employees about western cultures. Her clients span multiple industries. She has served on multiple boards of non-profits including the Portland Human Resources Management Association, the Oregon Organization Development Network, the NW China Council, and the Society for Intercultural Education, Training and Research. Lillian will present valuable information on working and communicating with Chinese-speaking cultures. 

    Trina D'Amico, Director, HR Business Partner, Port of Portland
    In her role at the Port of Portland, she is responsible for analyzing Port learning and development needs; managing resources to meet the instructor led and e-learning needs of the organization as well as actively managing the talent pipeline of the organization through succession planning and learning and development programs. Her duties also involve designing, developing, and delivering interventions that proactively address the business needs for improved workforce performance. She also delivers mid-senior level manager coaching services as needed. Trina enjoys applying systems thinking and integral coaching to encourage both organizational and individual change that is sustained over time. "Integral coaching" is a way of working with people that leaves them more competent and more fulfilled so that they are more able to contribute to their organizations and find meaning in what they are doing. Her passion is contributing to the creation of healthy, functioning systems at all levels of the organization. Prior to starting at the Port of Portland in 2007, she worked at Intel. Trina is also a Professional Certified Coach through New Ventures West, an affiliate of the International Coaching Federation. Trina will be discussing port succession planning.
