R-PAS Coding Solutions 

This intermediate/advanced workshop is designed to help R-PAS users develop coding proficiency. Beginning with key principles for R-PAS coding, those attending this workshop will learn to identify and address the major sources of coding errors and inconsistencies.

 

Course Outline: 
I. Introducing the general principles of R-PAS Coding and sources of coding inconsistency (20 mins) 
2. Critical concepts for coding Location and Object Qualities (including defining important objects, identifying form demand, making reliable judgments about SR, and recognizing codable response objects) (20 mins) 
3. What's In a Response (including run-on and this-or-that responses and response elements introduced in the CP)? (20 mins) 
4. Ins and Outs of Dimensional Determinants and Shading (30 mins) 
5. Nailing Down Movement and Form Determinants and Active v Passive Codes (30 mins) 
6. Dynamics of Color Coding (20 mins) 
7. Sorting Out Multiple Object Responses (20 mins) 
8. Going Beyond the Cookbook: Extrapolating FQ for Unlisted responses (20 mins) 
LUNCH (1 hr) 
9. Hardening "Soft" Distinctions Among Cognitive Codes (40 mins) 
10. COP, MAH, MOR, MAP, or even 3 out of 4? (30 mins) 
11. Confidently Coding ODL, AGC, & ABS (40 mins) 
12. Coding Practice: What Have We Learned? (60 min.)

Fees: The cost for this one-day training is either $195 (early registration, before May 8th) or $225 (regular, May 9th or after). Students (40% off), university instructors (20% off), and clinical supervisors (10% off) may request a discount code by contacting us at info@r-pas.org; students should submit proof of academic enrollment or an unofficial transcript, while instructors and supervisors should submit some documentation attesting to their role. 

Cancellations can be made with a full refund minus a $25 processing fee up to seven days before the event. 

Continuing Education Credit:  Participants in this program are eligible for 7 hours of continuing education credit. The program must be completed in its entirety to qualify for this credit (i.e., partial hours cannot be accommodated). CEs are an additional $15 and can be obtained by entering a value of 1 in the "CE Credits" section of the registration page.
