How your Fundraising and Marketing Teams can Collaborate to Ensure a Streamlined Donor Experience

The world isn’t black and white, and neither is the work fundraisers do in it. This complexity is true for nonprofit organizations with multiple people responsible for marketing to and soliciting funds from donors. There is often overlap between the communications and fundraising roles at charities that can impact a donor's journey as they interact with the organization.

This session presented by Larissa Stoddart, CFRE and CEO of Growth & Co. fundraising consultancy, will outline to participants:

  • What is a donor journey
  • Why is the donor's journey important
  • How can fundraising and marketing staff collaborate to ensure the donor's journey is a positive one

CFRE Credits: 1

Cost:  AFP Members - $15, Non-Members - $30

Larissa Stoddart

CEO, Growth & Co.

CEO of Growth & Co., Larissa Stoddart grew up in extraordinary circumstances. When mental health and addictions issues intensified in her family, she decided at 14 that having no permanent home was safer than her family’s home. Unsurprisingly, that solution had a lot of difficulties wrapped up in it. Those difficulties are often her motivation to help people today. As the recipient of donor funding throughout her life, she became a fundraiser to ensure people have access to opportunities due to donor funding just like she did.

A graduate of the University of Western Ontario, Larissa has also obtained her Nonprofit Management Certificate and is a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE). She has worked on higher education campaigns of $750 million, and built the fundraising infrastructure for recently launched charities to grow their revenue starting at $0. She has worked with organizations such as Big Brothers Big Sisters, the Canadian Museum of Nature, The Humane Society, YMCA, The ArQuives- Canada's LGBTQ2+ Archives, among many more. As a fundraising trainer, coach, and consultant, she now focuses on teaching charities how to build and enhance their fundraising operations to raise more revenue to fulfill their missions.
