Although the Grand Tour and Mini Tour are sold out, limited space remains for some individual events. New registration options have been added but space is limited and transportation is not always included. Docent guided walking tour of Art Deco along and near  Grant Street.

Locations include

• The 1929 Koppers Building. 
• The 1932 48-story Gulf Tower was designed by Trowbridge & Livingston.
• The 1931 Pittsburgh Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland features cast aluminum reliefs above the first story windows by Henry Hering.
• WPA Murals in the Allegheny County Courthouse.
• The 1915 City-County Office Building has an impressive grand lobby with vaulted ceiling lit by two light wells and lined by bronze columns fabricated by Tiffany Studios.
• The 1902 Frick Building was designed by Daniel H. Burnham.
• The 1917 Union Trust Building was designed by Frederick J. Osterling features an 11-story atrium topped by a skylights designed by Rudy Brothers.
• Boulevard of the Allies World War I Memorial Columns by local sculptor Frank Vittor.

Bus to the Strip District. Lunch on your own at the original Primanti Brothers' sandwich shop opened in 1933. Shopping at Mahla & Co. Antiques. Art Deco dealer Nicholas Roy will have special merchandise available as well as a special selection of vintage fashions. A prominent mid-century dealer also exhibits at the mall.

Tours of Shadyside and Oakland

A combination of bus and self-guided walking tours will explore the neighborhoods surrounding the Carnegie Museum of Art. Sites to be visited include

• The 1937 Royal York Apartments designed by Frederic Stanton.
• The 1940 Alan I W Frank House designed by Walter Gropius and Marcel Breuer.
• The 1983 Giovannetti House designed by Richard Meier.
• 1921-25 Cathedral of Learning and its Nationality Rooms
• The 1931-32 Medical Arts Building designed by Maxmilian Nirdlinger.

At the Carnegie Museum of Art, docents will guide us through the modernism collections including the massive "Chariot of Aurora" panels from the Normandie designed by Jean Dupas.

Fundraiser for the Frank House Foundation

Reception/Dinner/Video/"Living History" Program

The Crystal Room in the historic St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral will be the site of the evening program including an open bar reception, dinner, screening of a new video on the Frank House produced and narrated by leading architectural historian Barry Bergdoll, and a "Living History" discussion with Alan Frank. Alan grew up in the Frank House and has fond memories of interactions with Gropius and Breuer and the social life in the home. http://thefrankhouse.org/gallery

Afternoon Bus Tour

Sites to be visited include

• Monongahela Incline (We will disembark at West Station Square; ride the Incline, and reboard the bus at Grandview Avenue

• Lofts at Mount Washington. Formerly the Prospect School by M.M. Steen with reliefs by Charles Bradley Warren. We will have a guided tour of the repurposed building.

• Mt. Lebanon Municipal Building, 1930. Designed by William H. King, jr.
• Allegheny County Airport, 1930-31. Designed by Stanley Roush and Henry Hornbostel (expansion).

• Kennywood Amusement Park. One of only two amusement parks on the National Register, attractions include the Gimbels Flyer train from the 1939 New York World's Fair, several wooden roller coasters, a 1929 Carousel, and many other historic rides.

 The Pittsburgh Grand tour ($500 - $600) includes

• World Congress 2019 sendoff in the Bodega at Gaucho Parilla, an Argentine restaurant

• Excursion to Fallingwater and Kentuck Knob including admission fees and transport
• Bus tours Monday afternoon, Wednesday morning, and Wednesday afternoon

The Pittsburgh Mini-tour ($300 - $350) package includes all of the above except the Fallingwater/Kentuck Knob excursion and dinner at Gaucho Parilla.

Tour fees do not include hotel, breakfast, lunch, or Wednesday dinner.

Extra cost options include

• Interior tour of portions of the Walter Gropius/Marcel Breuer-designed Frank House led by owner Alan Frank (Requires $1,000 tax deductible donation per person to the Alan I. W. A La Carte Options

Portions of the Pittsburgh Post-Congress program may be available on an a la carte basis depending on the level of demand for the Grand Tour and Mini Tour and program capacity. 

Registration is available for the Monday night Frank House Benefit ($140) . In addition, space may be available after April 1st for the following:

• Fallingwater and Kentuck Knob excursion
• Wednesday morning bus tour
• Wednesday afternoon bus tour

Hotel Reservations

Accomodations are not included in the price of the post-Congress tour. A block of rooms have been reserved for program participants at the Omni William Penn Hotel for $155 excluding taxes.
