MEMBERS ONLY: Art Deco Open House Reception at Baltimore Home

On Saturday, September 22nd, a longtime ADSW member will host a reception in her 1920s home in Baltimore. Her home is located just minutes from Penn Station (about $7 by Uber) for those wishing to take public transit. There is ample free parking both on the street and at a strip mall near her home for those who plan to drive.

The home's furnishings reflect the member's decades long love of Art Deco, with a Tiki Deck thrown in for fun.

This will be a late afternoon event featuring beer, white wine, and a buffet of heavy hors d'oeuvres. There will also be rum and a variety of fruit juices served at the tiki bar. We hope you can join us!

Weather notice: Late September can still be hot. The house is not air conditioned so dress comfortably.

Baltimore has a lot to offer so plan to spend the day.

September 22nd is the Smithsonian Institution's "Museum Day" with participating museums, including several in Baltimore, offering free admission.

Museum Day is a one-day event in which participating museums and cultural institutions across the country provide free entry to anyone presenting a Museum Day ticket. Participants are allowed to download one ticket per email address. The open house is just minutes away from the Art Deco-styled Cathedral of Mary Our Queen at 5200 N Charles St, Baltimore, MD 21210 (visited on our bus tour of Baltimore Art Deco).

Getting There

An event in Baltimore poses special problems for some ADSW members (and special benefits for others who happen to live in Baltimore).

To help members plan their trip to Baltimore, we have included questions in the registration form to assist in forming carpool arrangements and identify travel companions for train travel. We also inquire about plans before the event.

We will do our best to provide assistance in locating rides and travel companions, but must emphasize the importance of registering early. Do not expect to register at the last minute and find a ride.
