Join us at the historic church of St Andrew's (opened in 1828) for this wonderful event.  Journey through Europe with songs that evoke the charms of its old cities.

The program for this concert will be a celebration of classical music from European composers. Journey through Europe with songs that evoke the charms of its old cities.  Finnish-Canadian soprano Emili Paananen-Losier will perform well-loved songs, accompanied by Aude Urbancic on the piano. Aude will also play a solo piano piece.  The song program includes some famous opera arias.  This event is brought to you by the Canadian Friends of Finland in Ottawa, supported by the Embassy of Finland in Canada and Suomi-Seura.

Emili Paananen-Losier is one of Finland's up and coming sopranos. She received her first Master's degree in opera at Finland's renowned Sibelius Akatemia. In 2013, she was awarded second prize in the prestigious Lappeenrannan Laulukilpailu, which was televised worldwide.  She has completed a second Master's degree at the University of Ottawa.

Pianist Aude Urbancic completed her Master's Degree in Piano Performance at the University of Ottawa under professor David Jalbert.  In 2015 Aude represented New Brunswick at the CFMTA national piano competition in Vancouver, after winning the provincial round.  Aude has a particular passion for collaborative work, especially choral music. She regularly performs around the Ottawa Region with several choirs.

A reception follows the concert in the church's Grant Hall.  We hope to see you there!
