The Future of Business Development and How You Can be a Part of It! 

Join SMPS Alaska for a presentation on the future of business development by Ron Worth, CAE, FSMPS, CPSM, the CEO of SMPS National!

Clients want to work with people they know, like and trust. But how do you get there? Business development is a vital part of getting to that point. Through business development efforts you can initiate a relationship with current and potential clients and build the recognition, camaraderie and trust essential to winning work. 

The SMPS Foundation recently published the research-based publication A/E/C Business Development… The Decade Ahead. It is the result of a major research initiative to determine how successful firms are conducting business development right now, what has changed, and where they think BD in our industry is headed. Join us as the CEO of SMPS National, Ron Worth, CAE, FSMPS, CPSM, discusses insights from the research, and explains best practices for business development and what professionals can do now to bring about change within their organization from a marketing and business development focus.

About our Speaker

Ron Worth Ron Worth, CAE, FSMPS, CPSM brings more than 25 years of experience in the construction and design industries to his role at SMPS. He was the vice president of marketing for the CECO Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of HEICO Industries, a Fortune 500 international construction services company located in Chicago, IL. In this position, he coordinated business development activities, overseeing 27 offices nationwide. This leadership role brought him into contact with the major architects, developers, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors around the country, through an aggressive program of preconstruction services, value engineering, and public relations. His career has exposed him to a range of projects including large commercial, institutional, industrial, retail, senior housing, and multi-family housing. His last major project in Washington, DC, was the Dulles International Airport expansion, which helped reshape most of the mid-Atlantic skylines.

A popular presenter, Ron has conducted in excess of 300 seminars and training classes for 14,000+ professionals across the country on topics from marketing, building industry economics, technology in construction, and preconstruction services, to economical structural design of various building types. He has written many articles for professional trade groups and nonprofit associations and has actively participated on many industry committees, forums, and symposiums for the advancement of the building community. He co-authored the book Building Profits through Marketing in the Building Industry, A/E/C Marketing Fundamentals (McGraw-Hill). His latest book, The Handbook of Sales and Marketing for Design Build Services (BNi), was released in Fall 2010.

Ron resides in Alexandria, VA. He has a BSAE from Kansas University and an MBA from Bradley University.
