2021 Southeast Georgia Soap Box Derby Pageant 

Welcome to the Miss Southeast Georgia Soap Box Derby Pageant!

We look forward to having a wonderful pageant and need your help!

Please make sure you read the rules completely.

Due to Covid-19 and the pandemic we are currently facing, there will be safety measures in place for all that attend and participate in the pageant.  As we approach the event date, the circumstances will be evaluated and CDC guidelines will be followed.  You will also have a waiver to sign stating guidelines that should be followed before entering the building.

Deadline to enter: Sunday, March 28, 2021 (ABSOLUTELY NO Applications will be taken after this date) 

The Southeast Georgia Soap Box Derby (SEGSBD) is a race that educates and inspires youth through fair and honest competition and mentorship, with a primary goal to advance family values. Derby racing is about community and is rooted in innovation. Because derby cars are “powered” completely by gravity, the Miss SEGSBD Pageant is a NATURAL pageant.

Divisions: Age determined as of pageant date, no fall back period

Baby Miss (0 ­- 11 months)   Toddler Miss (12 - 23 months)   Tiny Miss (2 - 3 years)

Little Miss (4 - 5 years)   Petite Miss (6 - 7 years)   Young Miss (8 - ­9 years)

  • Dresses should be age appropriate “Sunday Attire”. No formal pageant dresses will be allowed.  

  • Natural appearance and modeling are required. (Absolutely NO Pro­Am modeling)  

  • NOT allowed: NO flippers, NO hair pieces or extensions, NO false eyelashes

  • Makeup should be foundation/powder, light blush, mascara and lipgloss

  • Please adhere to all hair and makeup rules. We are looking for a naturally beautiful girl.  

  • Tanning is allowed but should be kept VERY NATURAL.  

  • Girls will model a TRADITIONAL T-pattern  


Divisions:  Junior Miss (10 - ­12 years)   Teen Miss (13 - ­16 years)   Miss (17­ - 21 years)  

  • Dresses should be formal age appropriate pageant dresses.  

  • Natural appearance (light makeup and soft hair) 

  • Makeup should be age appropriate. We are looking for a naturally beautiful girl.

  • NOT allowed: NO flippers, NO hairpieces, NO false eyelashes

  • Extensions are allowed for these divisions but SHOULD LOOK NATURAL

  • Tanning is allowed but should be kept NATURAL.  

  • Girls will model a TRADITIONAL T-pattern  

Junior (10 - 12 years) and Teen Miss (13 - 16 years) will also have the option to participate in:  

  • Optional Interview segment ­ a scheduled meeting with the judges panel prior to the beauty portion of the pageant  which will last 3 minutes 

  • Contestants will meet with the SEGSBD Director and receive pertinent information about the history of the SEGSBD. Some interview questions may be drawn from this information as well as their fact sheet.  


Miss (17­ - 21 years) ONLY will also participate in:  

  • Contestants will meet with the SEGSBD Director, and receive pertinent information about the history of the SEGSBD. ALL on-stage questions and some interview questions may be drawn from this information as well as their fact sheet.  

  • It is MANDATORY that ALL Miss contestants attend rehearsal. Miss contestants will receive pertinent information about the history of the SEGSBD. Please be sure that you can attend…again this is MANDATORY for ALL Miss contestants.  Please do not ask us to give you this information at a later time.  It will be available during rehearsal time and, unfortunately, will not be provided at any other time.

  • Interview segment ­ a scheduled meeting with the judges panel prior to the beauty portion of the pageant which will last 3 minutes

  • On-stage questions will be drawn from some of the information that will be reviewed during your meeting with the SEGSBD Director. if there are more than 10 contestants in the group ONLY THE TOP 5 will participate in the on stage question.


Scholarship money will be awarded in our Junior, Teen and Miss divisions.  The Junior Miss Interview Winner will be awarded scholarship money.  The Teen Interview Winner, as well as the Miss queen, 1st runner up and 2nd runner will be awarded scholarship money.
