Professional Development Teacher's Workshop:
"The Declaration of Independence: The Rationale of the American Revolution"

Please join us on Saturday, November 14, 2015 for a professional development teacher's workshop hosted by the American Heritage Education Foundation (AHEF), the Center for Law & Liberty at Houston Baptist University, and the HBU School of Education.

The topic of the workshop will be "The Declaration of Independence: The Rationale of the American Revolution."  Three scholars will discuss the Bible-centered debate on Revolution, the Declaration of Independence as a "social contract," the Law of Nature, and Unalienable Rights.  In addition, three teachers will present lessons and teaching strategies using The Miracle of America supplemental reference book and upcoming course guide. The program is open to educators from both public and private schools, and it will be of particular interest to History, Government, and Social Studies teachers.  Interested citizens are welcome.

Attendees will receive:

  • Presentations from three scholars who will help you better understand the philosophy behind the American Revolution and the Declaration of Independence.
  • Teaching strategies will be presented by three educators.
  • An opportunity for discussion and Q & A with experts in this field.
  • A complimentary copy of The Miracle of America reference book.
  • A Certificate offered through the HBU School of Education for 3.0 credit hours of Professional Development.
  • Lunch will be provided.

Registration Fee:  $30 per person.  This program is underwritten by the American Heritage Education Foundation.  Seating is limited.
