Yell & Tell - June 23, 2012 

Open to all boys and girls ages 6 - 9

This fun and interactive program helps young boys and girls discover practical life skills that are simple things to remember to avoid danger.  The focus of the class will be:  how to say "NO"; avoiding dangerous situations; learning to set boundaries so they recognize when someone is too close; and what to do if a situation makes them feel uncomfortable.  The goal is to encourage young people to "yell" when threatened and to "tell" a safe adult immediately.   

Real life scenarios include answering the door, answering the phone, stranger danger, and what to do in an emergency.  At the end of the class girls will take action to “break a board” to help them feel empowered!  Parents are encouraged to stay.

GTW Workshop Information

DIRECTIONS
We are on the northeast corner of Preston and McCallum, behind the Dominion Tower.  The GTW Studio is located off of the central foyer.

If you are arriving after 6:00 pm during the week or on the weekends, the main doors into the building will be locked.  Park on the east side of the building (or the back of the building) and enter the building by the door adjacent to the revolving door.  Your instructor will meet you at this entrance or have this door open for you.

ARRIVING FOR YOUR WORKSHOP
The GTW Studio is located off of the central foyer of the building.  It is not accessed through our clinic office.  Your instructor will meet you in the GTW Studio.  There is a quiet foyer adjacent to the Studio.  Parents are welcome to wait there if they are not participating in the workshop.

WHAT TO BRING WITH YOU
Bring a water bottle – we do not have access to a drinking fountain.  If you are participating in one of our self defense classes, wear comfortable clothing.  

GTW CANCELLATION POLICY
Cancellations seven days before the class will receive a full refund.  Cancellations 48 hours to six days before the class will receive a 50% refund.  Unfortunately we are unable to give refunds for classes cancelled within 48 hours.
