Nonprofits Have a Lot of Balls to Juggle

  • Running effective programming
  • Ensuring board members are engaged
  • Finding “freebies”
  • Even meeting payroll each month

Meanwhile, priorities have changed. What balls do we still need to juggle? What are the new juggling skills we need to have in order to be successful?

Vu Le, author behind nonprofitwithballs.com and grizzled executive director of Seattle-based organization, Ranier Valley Corps, will lead an entertaining discussion covering today’s new perspective and how we can end the “Nonprofit Hunger Games.”
*ASL Interpretation for Keynote Session Only. Please contact administration@leadershipcouncil.us for seating arrangements.

Breakout Sessions with local leaders will follow keynote; topics include:

People - How can nonprofits invest in employees, and volunteers to generate engagement, while juggling limited resources?   During this panel discussion, Jenn & Arlene will share their experiences with their organizations and how that relates to moderator Jenna's HCI & outside research on employee engagement, culture and attraction/retention.
Moderator - Jenna Filipkowski - VP of Research, Human Capital Institute
Panelists - Jennifer Goodin, CEO Ronald McDonald House and Arlene Nolan, Executive Director,
Shelter House    (formerly the Drop Inn Center)

Perspectives - What are some ways to ensure perspectives are heard and acted upon within your nonprofit organization?  Priya will help guide us in considering a diversity strategy that aligns with our business strategy and growth plans.
Breakout Leader:   Priya Klocek -  Pres & CEO Consultants on the Go

Priorities - Staying true to your mission despite pressure, paving a new path, and strategizing by looking outward to fulfill mission.  Tim will share how he often had to choose between funding and mission and how these choices shaped Starfire to be a visionary organization working to build better lives for people with disabilities.
