Course material will correct the misperceptions about borderline personality disorder by providing an overview of updated research about borderline personality disorder (BPD) symptoms from a neurobiological, behavioral, and psychological perspective. Evidence-based treatments for borderline personality disorder and a range of skills from these interventions will be addressed to leave workshop participants with a practical knowledge base and techniques to identify and support people with BPD. The stigma surrounding BPD will be explored, identifying environmental, cultural and systemic barriers to receiving a diagnosis and accessing BPD treatment. Community support will be explored such as family skills groups, education, peer support and alternative therapies as a bridge to care.

Who Should Attend:

Social Workers, Mental Health Counselors, Creative Arts Therapists, Marriage and Family Therapists, and any professional that is working in the mental health field.
