The workshop will provide information about the various types of countertransference phenomenon and best practices for use of self in psychotherapy. Both didactic and experiential teaching methods are used. Interactive participation, role play, and small group breakouts will be encouraged.

Who Should Attend: 

Social Workers, Mental Health Counselors, Creative Arts Therapists, Marriage and Family Therapists, and any professional that is working in the mental health field. 

Learning Objectives:

  • Develop a model and framework for clinical supervision.
  • Identify the developmental stage of the supervisee.
  • Integrate a deeper understanding of the various types of countertransference phenomenon.
  • Differentiate supervision from psychotherapy.
  • Apply appropriate strategies for the use of self.
