Who Should Attend

Social Workers, Mental Health Counselors, Creative Arts Therapists, Marriage and Family Therapists, and any professional that is working in the mental health field. 

Learning Objectives

  • Participants will learn how to utilize the SFBT Self-Session Model in order to reduce overall stressors
  • Participants will learn how to utilize SFBT round-robin/turn taking skills in order to assess/“take the temperature” of a team or group of colleagues in order to remove barriers and stressors
  • Participants will become familiar with a number of SFBT Handouts and SFBT list making in order to reduce workplace stress in particular
  • Participants will become familiar with utilizing all of the tools individually, within teams, and groups in order to reduce stress, find solutions, and overcome barriers
  • Participants will learn the SFBT Model, the solution layering process, and will be able to translate questions across the four quadrants

Learn a variety of Solution Focused Brief Therapy skills in order to reduce your overall stress, reduce burnout, and problem-solve. Learn skills to manage workplace stress, reduce workplace conflict, and provide more meaningful supervision and case conference experiences for your colleagues and staff (regardless of your role within your organization). Leave this workshop with a number of tools and handouts that you can utilize in your practice, within teams, individually, and in groups.

About the Presenter

          

Matthew L. Schwartz, LCSW, MBA, CFSW is a Solution Focused Brief Therapist and a Certified Financial Social Worker in private practice in Buffalo, NY. Matthew is a board member of the Solution Focused Brief Therapy Association, where he chairs the Conference Planning Committee. Additionally, he is the Research Committee Chair for the Center for Financial Social Work’s Financial Social Work Professional Network.

Matthew is set to complete his Doctor of Social Work (DSW) degree in May of 2023. His research focuses on implementation science and technology in order to improve the uptake of evidence-based research to close the research-to-practice gap.
