Join expert Acute Care Providers from different specialties presenting case-based discussions covering the management of severe bleeding in the emergency setting. Day 1 cover the indications for anticoagulation, pharmacologic agents, and reversal agents in the ED as well as emphasis on two major sources of severe bleeding with significant morbidity and mortality – intracranial/intraspinal bleeding and gastrointestinal bleeding. Day 2 emphasize treatment of severe bleeding in anticoagulated patients in the ED and critical care environments, including 1) developing a hospital critical pathway for severe bleeding in the anticoagulated patient; 2) treatment of severe bleeding in the cardiovascular ICU/ ECMO; and 3) management of the anticoagulated trauma patient in the ED and in the OR and SICU.
