Russ Austin will share WashU’s experience partnering with an online will-writing platform, including the due diligence process, program rollout, results to date, and key factors to consider. Communications plans, objectives and goals will be presented to provide participants with tools for a successful launch and implementation.

Russ Austin has over 20 years of local, national and university nonprofit experience. Joining WashU in 2020, Russ was promoted to Associate Vice Chancellor of Regional Advancement Programs & Planned Giving in 2022. Prior to WashU, Russ spent 14 years with the Wisconsin Foundation & Alumni Association, and has raised $200M+ in his nonprofit career.
Guest Speaker: Kim Smith, Associate Director, Planned Giving, Washington University
A member of Washington University’s Planned Giving team since 2013, Kim Smith facilitates marketing, communications and donor relations. Kim earned a BFA from Maryville University and an AAS in Paralegal Studies from Missouri State. She is currently studying Strategic Communications at WashU and is active in the St. Louis theatre community.
