Male Ensemble Northwest

About the Workshop
This choral workshop takes place in two sessions:

Morning Session: Soprano and Alto voices (grades 4-7)
This session will focus on producing good singing voices while having lots of fun. Singers will learn songs by rote (without any sheet music) as clinicians from M.E.N. give valuabe advice in vocal technique. A performance of the songs learned in the workshop will conclude the session, featuring special guest performances by Mastersingers Youth Girls' Choir and Boys' Choir; friends and family are welcome and encouraged to attend the performance at noon!

Afternoon Session: Tenor and Bass voices of ALL AGES
(including adults, changing adolescent voices, female tenors; all are welcome!)
This session will carry a focus on vocal care, well-being, and technical aspects of one's voice. Singers whose voices have just begun to change to their lower registers are welcome. Singers will learn songs by rote (without any sheet music). A performance of the songs learned in the workshop will conclude the session, featuring special guest performance by Male Ensemble Northwest; friends and family are welcome and encouraged to attend the performance at 5:00pm!

About M.E.N.

The special guest vocalists leading this workshop belong to the premier vocal ensemble Male Ensemble Northwest. Formed in Longview, Washington, in 1982, this all-male choral group consists of over a dozen of the finest choral conductors from Washington, Oregon, and Idaho. They perform choral music across the nation, while working tirelessly to encourage young males in public schools to sing in choirs of all kinds.

In the years since its inception, M.E.N. has appeared in concerts from local churches and auditoriums to regional and national audiences, always remembering to spread the message of male singing.  They have performed at national conventions of the American Choral Directors Association in Washington, D. C., and San Antonio; and several Northwest regional conventions.  They have appeared at the leadership conference of ACDA in Lawton, OK, and several state conventions, most recently in Oshkosh, WI. They will be performing at another ACDA concerence in Spokane this March.
