Review agenda

Review history of orthographic projection

Introducing the elements of:

  • Identify the principle views used in orthographic projections
  • Identify the types of lines used in projection drawings and the purpose of each
  • Identify auxiliary and sectional views
  • Practice - Projection of normal, inclined and oblique surfaces
  • Create physical “paper dolls” to enable visualization of complex geometries
  • Recap of the day - Lessons Learned, Parking lot items, actions for day two

 

Day Two 8:30 am – 4:00 pm

Identify the differences between first and third angle projections

Introduction of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) to compliment the orthographic projections incorporated in engineering drawings.

  • Identify and draw GD&T Symbols
  • Correctly use GD&T symbols
  • Describe Maximum and Minimum material conditions
  • Describe and correctly apply Datums
  • Identify various inspection tools
  • Demonstrate the use of measuring devices.
