Course Description: The purpose of this course is to introduce you to a proven method for group problem-solving and decision-making. This method is applicable in any setting where groups need work together to make collective decisions or plans. This approach uses tools to help foster collaboration in decision-making and action-planning – among individuals, organizations or communities.

This method has many benefits:

• Provides an environment to hear all voices and apply group wisdom
• Recognizes and honors contributions of all
• Pools individual contributions into larger more informative patterns
• Fosters strategic thinking that leverages the group wisdom and creativity
• Welcomes diversity while minimizing polarization and conflict
• Promotes high levels of group ownership for the resulting plan

At the completion of this course, participants will be able to:

• Create a safe environment for team members to openly contribute and make consensus-based decisions
• Apply collaborative problem-solving and decision-making techniques
• Select and apply appropriate tools when participating in a team problem-solving activity
