We are pleased to announce that Wisconsin Public Radio is sponsoring its annual BIG TOP TRIP to Chequamegon Bay on August 22 and 23.
Highlighting the trip will be a live performance entitled, Riding the Wind. This performance is the first Big Top show ever presented and still remains the favorite. Riding the Wind is a musical and big-screen visual portrait of Bayfield with secrets of Red Cliff and Old LaPointe. Before the show, enjoy an All-American Style picnic at the base of Mount Ashwabay including hot dogs, hamburgers, a vegetarian option of black bean burgers, and all your favorite picnic sides!
Trip guests will stay at Hotel Chequamegon in Ashland. Choose between lakeside or city side rooms. Lakeside rooms are secured on first come, first served basis. A continental breakfast will be served at the hotel the morning of August 23 before we depart for a day in Bayfield.
In Bayfield, guests will have the opportunity to explore the town on their own or take part in a guided tour with Jane Tyler, wife of Bayfield's 1870's Captain Tyler for some maritime adventure stories on the Lake Superior shore. Hear tales of lighthouses, shipwrecks, tragedy and treasure. Learn of narrow escapes on the lake and the people who survived them.
Register now to reserve your spot today! We look forward to seeing many of you this August.
