"Sripada-Purandara"

On the occasion of Shri Purandara Daasara Aaraadhane, Kannada Sangha (Singapore) is organising Carnatic Vocal & Instrumental and Hindustani Vocal Music Competitions on 11th Feb 2018 (Sunday) to commemorate Sangeeta Pitamaha Shri. Purandara Daasaru's and Shri. Sripada Raya's rich contribution to the musical world. We invite you to register for this event and to make use of this wonderful opportunity to showcase your talent. 

This year's competition is dedicated to propagate the works and compositions of Shri. Purandara Daasaru and Shri. Sripada Rayaru.

GENERAL RULES & REGULATIONS
 
  1. Participants should sing or play 'Shri Purandara Daasara ' (excluding the Pillari GeethegaLu)  or "Shri. Sripada Rayara" compositions only.
  2. Participants MUST NOT sing or play compositions selected in previous years. Kannada Sangha validates data with previous years. -New*
  3. No rhythm to accompany. Singing is aCapella based.
  4. Participant should memorize the song that they are going to present.
  5. Participants should make their own arrangements for Shruti - be it Shruti box or Tamburi. Tamburi/Shruti box should be tuned/present before the participants Roll-Number is called. Participants will not be permitted to tune it on the stage.
  6. Participants should bring their own accessories like power chords, adapters etc. Organizers will not be providing them.
  7. Instrumental Category: Tune your instrument before you get to the stage. Any necessary fine-tuning after getting on stage should take less than a minute.
  8. Competition in any category will be held only if there is a minimum no. of entries.
  9. Participants will be informed at least 2 days in advance about any change/cancellation.
  10. For Group Registrations, one person for the group should register.New*
  11. For Group Songs, the group size MUST be 4 participants. To avail the Member Discount, at least 2 of the group participants MUST be Kannada Sangha Members. New*
  12. Only registered participants (through online registration using the link on the right) will be allowed to contest. Registration with incomplete details will not be considered. On-The-Spot registrations will NOT be allowed.
  13. All entry fees are non-refundable and confirmation of Registration is only upon payment through PayPal.
  14. Judges' decisions are final.
  15. Allotted time is as stated in the table above. Please note that a buzzer will be sounded when the maximum allotted time is reached to alert the participants.
